The new Main Library offers a state-of-the-art resource center for literacy and learning. The three-story building includes two levels of below-grade parking. The building uses green technology and is the largest green library in Northern California. Energy-saving features will save the city more than 20% in energy costs compared to a conventional building. Constructed in both a busy urban area and in close proximity to residential, many measures were taken to minimize disruption and impacts to the surrounding neighbors.
