Grand Park

Overview

Pankow provided construction services for the 12-acre Grand Park located in the heart of downtown’s cultural and civic center. This public park brings a much-needed green space to the area. Stretching four blocks from The Music Center to City Hall, Grand Park was created to become a central gathering space for the diverse communities of Los Angeles County and its visitors.

Scope of work included the renovation and expansion of the historic Civic Mall, including relocation of the existing vehicular helical ramps off of Grand Avenue, relocation of Starbucks and installation of new pedestrian-friendly monumental stairs and ramps connecting the entire site. Expansion of the park to the east created a visually-appealing pedestrian connection from the Music Center to the western steps of the Los Angeles City Hall.
