Dole Cannery Entry Renovation

Overview

Pankow created a new entry point to an existing concrete retail structure. The Design-Build contract included a new steel truss and concrete column entry canopy. Carbon fiber wrap reinforcing was installed on existing load bearing structural CMU walls to allow for concrete lintel beams to be poured-in-place into these walls. The construction of the carbon fiber reinforcing and the concrete lintel beams structurally reinforced the building facade to allow for the demolition of the walls to form new window openings on two stories. New storefront windows and a tenant entry door were installed along with new window canopies. The exterior facade of the building was then remediated for cosmetic damage and painted.
