Pankow Received 2014 Excellence in Safety Award
On February 12, 2015, on behalf of the Pankow team, James Downey accepted the 2014 Excellence in Safety award from the Construction Employer Association (CEA).
This award is presented to companies that have demonstrated an excellent safety program and a strong commitment to safety. Companies were evaluated on several criteria, including a total incident rate and a lost workday incident rate at least 25% below the industry average, also an experience modification rate below 1.0 and demonstration of an active safety training program.
The Construction Employer Association represents approximately 100 unionized contractors in Northern California and is responsible for negotiating Pankow’s collective bargaining agreement for Carpenters and Laborers.
