Pankow Builders Promotes JR Gunter to Vice President of Operational Planning
Pankow is pleased to announce the promotion of JR Gunter, to Vice President of Operational Planning for Pankow Builders. Pankow has over half a century of continuous presence in the Los Angeles and Bay Area regions.
In this role, JR will enhance synergies amongst Preconstruction Planning, MEP Coordination, Safety, Virtual Design and Construction, Lean and Quality to bring complete efficiency to the forefront of the project. JR will provide leadership for full and early collaboration as well as ensure continuous flow of information sharing between Preconstruction and Operations to realize efficiencies and cost savings in constructability.
“JR has provided meaningful leadership and a commitment to operational excellence on three pressure-filled projects in the Ford Theatre and the Edition Hotel in Hollywood and the San Francisco War Memorial Veterans Building. JR joined Pankow in 2014 with nearly 30 years of experience in the industry and decades of knowledge as the former CEO/President of the modular company, GV Modular Construction. He brings to Pankow a passion for seeing waste, eliminating waste and continuously improving. As Pankow’s Director of Lean, JR played a critical role leading the company towards the achievement of its Lean goals, helping the company advance and embrace Lean tools and concepts such as Last Planner and Pull Scheduling. He tirelessly travels the state on behalf of Pankow to collaborate with project teams and aid in their journey of all things Lean. JR partners with clients, project teams, subcontractors and trades people in the field to help them improve their projects.
