Pankow Participated in the 31st Annual Leap Sandcastle Contest at Ocean Beach in San Francisco
On Saturday, October 11th, Pankow joined with Pfau Long Architects and Francis Scott Key Elementary school to compete in the 31st Annual Leap Sandcastle Contest at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. This year’s theme “Food Glorious Food,” inspired our team name, “The Hungry Games.” The team worked with the 4th grade students to design the 400-square foot plot design that showcased “Hungry Hungry Hippos”, eating a large-scale pizza, hot dog, hamburger and fruit.
The team competed against 30 other teams of architects, designers, engineers and contractors who came together to support arts education in Bay Area schools. This year’s amazing event raised close to $300,000 to support art programs for over 7,000 elementary students this year.
