Pankow helps to fight hunger with Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
On Wednesday June 8th, Pankow partnered with Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to accomplish its mission to mobilize the resources of our community to fight hunger throughout Los Angeles County. Seven Pankow volunteers were tasked with sorting, inspecting and repackaging donated food items from local food drives and supermarket chains. Within a span of merely three hours, 10,000 pounds of food were processed which equates to 8,300 individual meals provided to the local community.
Pankow recently launched its Volunteer Program where employees are empowered to spend a portion of their annual work hours to help local charities and non-profit organizations. Pankow is committed to improving the surrounding communities in which we live, work and play. From office personnel to jobsite team members, it is a very fulfilling experience to give back to our local communities. Read below for some enlightening quotes from our volunteers:
Quotes of the Day:
Jerman Valencia, Jr., Intern Engineer: "I was motivated to volunteer today because other people have bigger needs than myself. It makes me appreciate what I do have."
Dustin A. Smith, Project Manager: "It's always good to volunteer and humble yourself. It helps you appreciate what you do have."
A special thanks to all of our Pankow Volunteers: Christine Timbre, Dustin A. Smith, Eva Bailey, Jerman Valencia Jr., Kaire Diep, Lorraine Garcia, Nury Aldana
