What You'll Be Doing:

Ensures conformance with Safety requirements

  • Acts as the onsite Safety Officer in conformance with the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP)
    • Leads the effort in creating the SSSP
  • Ensures that Safety Inspections on a daily basis and that inspections focus on the appropriate high risk work activities
  • Ensures Foremen create daily task plans, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s), and Toolbox Talks
  • Ensures that Subcontractor JHA’s are developed and are appropriate for all Subcontractor High Risk Activities
  • Conducts the daily morning huddle to communicates the safety focus areas and coordination of work
  • Ensures that Safety Orientations occur for all Pankow new hires and subcontractor personnel

Drive the execution of and complete the work

  • Leads the weekly scheduling efforts
  • Track and adjusts the work of the 3 Week Schedule and reconcile against the Project Schedule
  • Leads Daily Lean Huddles and promotes Pankow’s Lean Culture
  • Communicates schedule issues to appropriate team members by:
    • Lead the Pankow Team Scheduling Meetings
    • Lead the Subcontractor Coordination Meetings
  • Leads the effort for development of means & methods and site logistics for the project

Ensures Quality meets the expectations described in the Contract Documents

  • Ensures understanding of Project Requirements at every stage of the project
  • Monitors compliance with the Project Specific Quality Management Plan (PSQMP)
  • Participates in Quality Control Surveys for Subcontractor work and self-performed work
  • Acts as the liaison for all inspectors

Works collaboratively with the Pankow Team

  • Communicates consistently and frequently with field engineering staff to obtain detail information required for construction
  • Inform and provides guidance to field engineering staff regarding omissions and conflicts within the documents needing resolution
  • Works with team to review estimate and set goals, measure production, and achieve profitability goals
  • Obtains most competitive pricing for, and purchase, materials and services

Work collaboratively with Subcontractors

  • Lead scope review, preconstruction, and pre-install meetings
  • Resolve conflicts and coordination issues
  • Communicates expectations for subcontractor participation in Pankow Lean Culture on the project
  • Determine workforce needs to ensure adherence to the schedule
  • Ensures that proper notification of back charges to subcontractors is communicated in a timely manner

Other Accountabilities

  • Complete Daily Diaries
  • Ensure project conformance with all union agreements and OSHA safety requirements
  • Supervise and train the field union labor in proper work techniques
  • Hire and assign craft foreman and journeyman to work items after utilizing the crew size template and other methods to determine needs
  • Manage onsite equipment
  • Review time cards from the craft foreman for accuracy and conformance to the cost coding system
  • Obtain permits (i.e., crane, OSHA building, etc.) with assistance from the Senior Superintendent/General Superintendent

What We Look For:

  •  ACI Flatwork Certification preferred
  •  Union Foreman Management Training preferred
  •  Safety Trained Supervisor Certification preferred
  •  Qualified SWPPP’s Practitioner (QSP) Certification preferred
  •  Carpenters Superintendent -in -Training Certification preferred

About You:

  •  Effective communication skills, sense of urgency and ownership, ability to work as part of a team
  •  Scheduling proficiency required and experience with scheduling software preferred

What You've Done:

  • Minimum of five years of jobsite management experience as a Pankow foreman or ten years of jobsite management experience
