On November 12th, St. Luke’s administrators, physicians, employees, benefactors, regional business leaders, elected officials and community partners came together to celebrate the “topping out” of the final steel beam being placed. CPMC 2020 aims to transform the replacement hospital at the St. Luke’s Campus into the hospital of choice for the southern sector of San Francisco. Wrapped by an urban oasis, the replacement hospital at the St. Luke's Campus will provide 120 patient beds in a 215,000 square foot acute health care facility in the Mission District of San Francisco. Achieving LEED certification, the campus will champion sustainable and efficient patient treatment. The modernized campus will also be able to withstand and remain in operation after a strong earthquake, ensuring access to health care when patients may need it most. Incorporating a 100% filtered outside air system, highly-diverse vegetated exteriors, healthy building materials and water conservation tactics will result in a setting that promotes the health of patients, staff, and visitors. Pankow will wrap up the concrete scope finishing the project in April 2016 with around 10,000 yards of concrete poured.
