SoCal Volunteer at the Desiderio Project
On Saturday, 4/1/17, we held a very successful SoCal Habitat volunteer day at the Desiderio Project in Pasadena. We had over 25 Pankow volunteers for the day, including 10+ carpenter/laborer, which made this the largest volunteer group we have organized with San Gabriel Valley Habitat in the past 10 years! With the help of all our skilled craft workers and Pankow Veteran Bob Law in tow, our group was able to install all 60 windows for the first four houses already framed, including finishing the Tyvek house wrap and the peel & stick flashings, allowing the houses to be ready for siding installation. To make the volunteer day even more fun, we held a raffle during lunch for some Starbucks & Home Depot gift cards and gave away some Pankow volunteer shirts to our carpenter/laborer. It was an amazing and beautiful day at the Desiderio Project, and even the Metropolis crew can't wait to return back to work on framing for the remaining 5 houses.
